![]() In either case, European policymakers disavow. They have some themes with Colonization (depending on what you are looking for) and could scratch your itch. Overseas imperialism was once believed to be a political necessity for European states today, anti-immigrant politics plays the same role. Not really the same, but try to check Tropico (political simulator/strategy, the first one is IMHO best), Anno, Patrician (trade simulator in Hanza), Port Royal (same, but in Caribean) and East India Company/Commander: Conquest of Americas. to remake Indians into more civilized people and second, it was a means of control. It is the classical easy to learn and hard to master and IMHO I can suggest it in heartbeat. what-is-cultural-imperialism 2/6 Downloaded from qa. on. It manages to simplify the economy into ~5 resources, but still keep itself interesting. ![]() Imperialism 2 does simulate it quite a bit better, you can still just stay on your home turf and gain land of other European nations to fuel your industry, but going on colonization effort and securing resources from natives is a valid, interesting and fleshed-out play.Ĭonquest of the New world is more combination of wargame with 4X TBS, concentrating on a small amount of colonies with a lot of building per turn. ![]() Victoria plays in the era of Scramble of Africa or in time, when nations have large colonial empire, and has some economical simulation behind, but I feel that it is more about transforming one's country through growing one's industry rather than any colonization efforts or utilizing colonies to supply you raw materials. Then in Civ 6, they got some specific mechanics and buffs for gameplay like that, but it is still just panting map with cities. Technically, in every civ you could sorta, but not really, do it. If you mean more the era of colonization with a particular dynamic, then it is quite a bit bleaker situation. In every civ, or almost every 4X, you by definition slowly colonize region/planet/or planets, so you are technically building "colonial empire". ![]() Depends what you mean by "colonial empire". ![]()
